Mathius Carter served in the United States Army and was deployed in 2003 for the initial invasion of Iraq (Operation Iraqi Freedom) supporting 3rd ID and 101st Airborne Division, providing communication for infantry to call for backup.
Now Mathius is working as a Veteran Outreach Coordinator for Road Home Program, a Non-profit Organization through Rush University Medical Center which helps Veterans and their families with the invisible wounds of war.
"As a Combat Veteran, I know how hard it can be to ask for help and to find a program that works for you, so when I heard about Road Home Program and what they do for Veterans I had to get involved. The work which is being done at RHP is amazing and I am glad to be here helping Veterans find their way back home."
Mathius is a single father living in IL with his 5 year old son, he started writing books to show his son how much he loves him and to help explain his struggles.
